Animals
When referring to animals in this section, I am referring to the large organisms on Earth - including fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, etc. Animals share the same space as humans and use the life force of the Earth to survive.
Animals have an important role in Nature - they are part of Nature's balance of life and death and they bring their own unique presence to existence. Earth-based cultures have revered animals for the lessons they teach, especially teaching humans how to survive and interact with life. Somehow in Western society, there exists a severe disconnection from animals, other than pets. No longer do many people participate in killing the animal that gives their body for human food - no longer is the animal given gratitude for their service to humanity. Large farms take away the one on one connection that the farmer used to have with the animals, and the animals aren't looked at as a divine being deserving of respect.
Humans can make the conscious decision to regard animals with respect and reverence instead of as objects under human control. This does not mean everyone necessarily needs to become vegetarians. Realise that animals have an intelligence and a language of sorts; we can once again interact with these animal beings in harmony. We can communicate with animals. The language we use is emotions, visual imagery, and intentions. The tools we use is the openness of our heart to receive their energy and our intuition. Consciously communication with animals will give you a much richer experience with life. Yes, this is possible - just ask all of our ancestors and all of the people whose kindred hearts are open.
